Number Toy Hunt

Happy Wednesday Friends! I am so excited to be sharing my first learning activity on here today! This week the kids worked on number recognition and I found this perfect gem from ToddlerApproved. It is super simple to set up and it gets the kids up and moving which is great with any toddler!

All you need is cardstock, this FREE printable, toys from around the house and painter's tape. The printable has numbers 1-10 so I just printed out a few so that the kids did not feel overwhelmed.
The first thing you are going to do is tape the papers with the numbers and circles on them in different areas of your house. Then encourage you child to find ONE toy to go into each circle. Then once they gather all the toys for each circle have them count the toys and say the number. They can continue doing this task until they complete every sheet! Counting each set of toys and saying the number as they finish.

You can also make these sheets on your own with colored cardstock, and a black marker. It was just easier for me to print out the sheets and do it that way.

This activity is so simple but it gets the kids thinking about numbers and it allows them to be interactive as they can pick and choose their own toys. Hudson was so excited to be able to use his cars and Lilly grabbed a lot of toys from her barbie playhouse.

Hudson is only two so he doesn't know his numbers as well as Lilly, but this is perfect for him because it will help him to start to recognize and understand numbers. It is never too early to start learning. They both really enjoyed this activity and I highly recommend it.  You can totally be creative with it and use different learning manipulatives to count and learn the numbers with.

Thanks so much for checking this post out!
