Hey Friends! With winter slowly approaching I know all of you must be thinking about "What Am I Going To Do When We Can't Get Outside?" Well I am here to help you with that! I have gathered some fun ways and ideas to keep your kiddos from being bored once the snow starts to fall.
1. Bring The SNOW inside!
I have done this activity so many times, I think the first time was when Lilly was a baby, she LOVED it! But when it's too cold to go outside grab a sensory tub and fill it with snow. Just add scoops, cups, bowls, anything really that they can use to play with the snow!
2. Make A Fort
When Covid first started we were all going stir crazy being stuck in the house. So we decided, meaning the kids decided to take all the couch pillows and make a fort. It was actually really cool and super fun for them. You could also use those same pillows and make an obstacle course throughout your house.
3. Have A Movie Night
This can be so fun for the family! Pick a bunch of fun family movies that you could have movie nights with. Add some snacks and drinks and get ready to have the best time. We are doing this a lot during this month with all of our favorite Christmas movies!
4. Book & Activity
Pick one of your child's favorite winter stories and read and complete a fun activity that goes along with the theme of the story. For example, use the book Snow Day By Ezra Jack Keats and then your child can make a snowman out of cotton balls, glue, and construction paper. This idea can be so much fun with all the books that your kids love.
5. Bake Cookies Or A Cake
This is one of my favorite things to do with the kids! They absolutely love getting a chair and helping mommy out in the kitchen. Whether you are making cookies or cooking dinner, have your kids participate in the cooking process because it offers so many learning opportunities, not to mention some quality time with each other.
I hope these activities gave you a few ideas to hold onto once winter hits. If any of you have some ways to pass the time when it's cold out let me know in the comments below!
As always, thanks so much for supporting me!
XO
Kim
