Back To School has always been such a favorite to me as a kid, and especially now as I am raising two children of my own. For me, it was the excitement of getting new school supplies, a new backpack, and a whole new set of clothes. I hope that same excitement is shared with Lilly and Hudson. Now this year may be different for all of us, I sure did not think that I was going to be homeschooling but here we are. So I am trying to make the best out of a crazy situation. I want the kids to be excited for school and I am going to make it as special as I can for them. With that being said, I wanted to share some tips for heading back to school whether your kids are going to public school or you're going to homeschool.
🍎 Make A BACK TO SCHOOL COUNTDOWN! I saw this from Brianna K over on Instagram and I love this idea so much! My kids started at the 30 day countdown and they get so excited each day to be able to take one post-it down.
🍎Make a fun breakfast or after school snack to be able to discuss your child's first day emotions or worries, or if it's after school have a conversation with your child about how their day went. This is a great way to connect with one another on such an important day!
🍎The night before lay out your child's outfit for the first day and prepare their lunch or snack for the next day. If you are homeschooling then just prep their lunch ahead of time so that it is already to go when you reach that point of your day!
🍎Before school begins, talk and read to your kids about going back to school. Get them excited about a new year of learning. I always love to get out books for each season, and Back To School books are a great way to start the conversation.
🍎Lastly, for you and your child! Get some REST! YOU BOTH are going to need it for that first day of school. Be rested and ready to tackle the day!
I hope you all have a great first day of school whatever that may look like!
I am thinking of all of you!
XO
Kim
