Happy Monday Friends! This week in homeschool we worked on the Letter A and we learned so much about Apples! I pulled all of our apple books and we checked out some from the library as well! In today's post I want to share the kid's favorites from our first week of school. We definitely had a mix of books, ranging from fun picture stories to non-fiction books that taught us more about apples.
Here are a few of our favorites!
This book is about the cutest little hedgehog who has created his bed for winter and then
an apple falls on his back and ruins his plans. The story continues on with Hedgehog alongside his friends
trying to figure out ways to get the apple off, but ends up in more trouble than he expected. The kids loved this story!
This book is one of my favorites because we have the pumpkin version and we
read it every year. These books are great because it gives you the realistic view
of how apples are grown. You can see the process through pictures as well as all the fun
things that we do with apples every fall! This one is a great one to have!
This is another Dr Seuss book that I love! The thing about this book that I enjoyed was
that Hudson and Lilly both were excited about it. It is told in such a fun way and both my kids
loved every minute of it. We counted all the apples and talked about what was
happening in the story and how they all came together in the end! A great book
when learning about Apples!
This book was so perfect for our Apple theme. The story follows
bear and his friends through an apple alphabet. Finding letters in many
unique places, all having to do with apples. It also provides a great list
of all the different types of apples.
Those were some of our favorite books this past week! We will be finishing our
letter a theme this week and we will be moving on to letter b! Stay tuned because on
Wednesday's post I will be sharing my favorite apple crisp recipe. It is amazing and I make it every
year. The kids and I will be making it to close out our Letter A week!
Thanks so much guys!
XO
Kim
